Are you looking for an experience like never before? Nothing compares to St. Moritz in Switzerland if you’re a big fan of winter sports. This luxurious resort has something to offer everyone, from St. Moritz mountain biking trails to intermediate-level ski terrains and the world-famous Glacier Express.

Why you should go St. Moritz Mountain biking

St. Moritz is more than just your quaint little town. This resort destination sits atop the Engadin in Switzerland, soaring at a whopping 1800 meters above sea level. Its exceptional elevation gives rise to breathtaking mountain views and a scenic landscape overlooking the Upper Engadin, perfect for avid photographers and adventure-loving explorers.

What’s more, St. Moritz offers a vast selection of trails for both beginner and seasoned mountain bikers. This resort town spans a total area of 28.69 km2, bordered by deep forests and agricultural wonders. You can zip through soft and forgiving hills or go on a thrill ride across steep descents while taking in the cold breeze of the Alps.

And don’t worry—you won’t have trouble reaching your favorite trails. Mountain bikers can reach the peak via cable car, which traverses seven networks.  You can also take the mountain railway, gliding through the flanks of the 3000-meter tall Piz Nair and zooming across hidden valleys.

Must-visit trails on your St. Moritz mountain biking excursion for every type of biker

This mountain biking trail was built for beginners and people of every fitness level. With an elevation of about 300 feet, the Lai da Staz – Stazersee Loop takes you across 9 kilometers of lush green clearings, dazzling blue lakes, and picturesque sunsets. Also, the trail’s starting point is easily accessible via public transport, and you can complete the loop in a little over 30 minutes.

·         WM Flow Trail Loop

Itching for something that would cause you to break a sweat? If you’re ready to move up from beginner-friendly routes, the WM flow trail loop won’t disappoint. This intermediate-level mountain bike ride requires a bit of muscle and steady breathing, sitting at over 2300 feet above sea level.

It’s no surprise that the WM trail is one of the most popular in St. Moritz. It takes about two hours of your day with an average speed of 7.89 km/h. The 15-kilometer length allows you to explore Corviglia and soak up everything nature offers. But be careful—this route includes a 167-meter incline, and you may need to push your bike up the hill.

·         Fopettas Flow Trail

Not ready to take on steep hills? The Fopettas flow trail loop from St. Moritz offers a lovely alternative for intermediate bikers, boasting an elevation of 1600 feet. This 14-kilometer mountain bike route will take about an hour and a half to complete, starting from the St. Moritz bus station.
